Kia ora te whanau! My name is makaia! This week in the weekends I decided to make a dinosaur/dragon mask. I asked my dad to help me make the measurement and making the head. when he did the head we had to figure out how to make the mouth move. I had to tie a piece of string so I could try and make the mouth move. I put the mask on and I had to bite on the cardboard to make the mouth move and talk. then after my dad added some type of tape and put it where I have to bite on. My dad cut out 2 big holes for the eyes and 2 small holes for the nose. After cutting the holes We added ears, horns and teeth on it. it took my dad about an hour to do the whole head and measure how big it would be to put around my head. after we did the dragon/dinosaur head I made some claws that took me about 20 minutes or less to make.
The bit I liked most was making the claws.
The bit I least liked was figuring out how to make it.
I don't really know what to work on but here are some pictures of the claws and mask!
Thanks for looking at my blog! Have a great day/night! Good bye!
Today I did a visual mihimihi. If you don't know what a visual mihimihi is, its something that you have to add a kai mihi, morning karakia, a whakatauki, pepeha and what you like and don't like.
I liked the bit we did when we had to what I liked and what I don't like.
The least bit i liked was doing the whakatauki because we had to find a whakatauki that is a bit like you.
I think I could do better on my pepeha because I didn't add much to my pepeha.
Here is a link to the slide Visual mihimihi
Hope you enjoyed this blog! bye!

Hello! For a couple of days or weeks we have been learning about the solar system.
We had to get into groups and I was in a group with me, Zyah, Mihiata and Jayzaiah. First we had to finish this solar system slide and then we could make our creation. and we learned so much!
We each had a job to do on the creation, me and Jayzaiah painted the box while Mihiata and Zyah made the planets and painted them. After me and jayzaiah painted the outside of the box, we waited for it to dry so we could paint the inside of the box. When me and Jayzaiah finished painted the inside of the box Mihiata and Zyah had to wait for the planets to dry. We made the planets out of big foam ball's, we made the sun out of paper mache and we hanged the planets with a glue gun and when we ran out of glue for the glue gun we used type of poking sticks. The focus question was "Why Do Planets Orbit The Sun?"
My favorite part about the solar system create was painting the box. The least favorite part of the solar system create was making the video. I think i could do better on adding the planets.
Here is the video of me showing the create.
